[Editor's Note: This is part two of Maria's overview of the CHA Winter 2013 Innovations Showcase. In case you missed it, you can read part one from yesterday to get the whole story.)
One highlight of the CHA Winter 2013 Innovations Showcase event was the opportunity to speak to Rachel Faucett. Rachel is the author & designer from the popular blog, Handmade Charlotte. For those who may be unfamiliar with the Handmade Charlotte blog, Rachel blogs about a variety of subject matters that would appeal to families. She is a mother of five kids, a blogger, and a designer for Anthropologie, as well as working on her farm. I have loved reading her blog and have found her advice and suggestions very helpful.
We discussed her new Handmade Charlotte line of stencils from Plaid that are great for all types of projects. They can be used on fabric, wood, and more. She currently has a short video on YouTube for Plaid that shows how to make an easy copper necklace.
Here is a peek at some projects made with her new line with Plaid.
Fiskars demonstrated their new Fiskars Fuse Die Cut and Letterpress that is being advertised as “more than just another die-cutting machine”.
The Fuse is a bit wider (12″ wide) than the “Big Shot” (6″ wide)and will take a variety of different size dies and plates. The Fuse demonstrator said that it can die-cut a shape, press a textured pattern and ink the same pattern all in one easy pass through the Fuse.
From Krylon, there is a new sparkle spray paint called “Glitter Blast” which makes surfaces sparkle.
Another fun product is from Craft Attitude who was showing jewelry pieces made with their new line of printable craft film called “Jewelry Attitude”.
Impress Art Metal STamps had a great display of their metal stamps and hammers, along with some very fun projects featuring elements made with those supplies.
DMC was on hand to announce the introduction of Emma Broidery’s Memory Thread How-To Guide.
It is a 5″x7″ spiral bound book that has some good information, as well as patterns in it for projects like cards, home decor and more.
We would love to hear what you think about this years new product line up! Leave a comment and let us know what you are excited about!
